German Theatre Prize ‘Der Faust’
On November 27, 2022, the German Theatre Prize ‘Der Faust’ was awarded in the category ‘genre busters’ at the Düsseldorf Schauspielhaus.
From the jury's explanation: With their ‘Schaudepot’, Herbordt/Mohren have created a place that extends well beyond itself and performances. On the one hand, it is a small place with open doors in the outskirts of Stuttgart; lovingly and very elaborately thought out down to the last detail. But above all, it is also a building block, a principle, an invitation, a thought that is implemented: into the town and onto the World Wide Web, which can be applied practically and, as it happens, thoughtfully inquires into the social significance of theatre. It's very serious research - with emphasis and great consistency. On-going and in the best sense of the word: transdisciplinary!"
